On Tuesday May 28th, 2019, I was invited to do a digital marketing presentation and workshop to the Centre for Young Entrepreneurs and Changemakers at Mulgrave School in West Vancouver.
According to Wikipedia, “Mulgrave School is an independent non-denominational, co-educational, university-preparatory school in West Vancouver, Canada. It has approximately 80 students in every grade and uses all IB programs.”
The workshop formed part of a series of talks that aims to boost students understanding of entrepreneurship, creating positive change, and learning skills to impact the future.
The series features some high profile successful Vancouver business folk, including Charles Chang who turned Vega from a failure to a $550 million deal and Darrell Kopke of Lululemon fame and an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at the University of British Columbia.
Take a look through the slides below… They were originally done in PowerPoint (I have some old fashioned habits 😉 but these have been converted to Google Slides for ease of viewing and sharing…
Digital Marketing Workshop – Mulgrave School – Google Slides
Take a look through the slides and see what the workshop was all about and explore some of the shared resources. It is posted here so that students can come back and refer to the slides in case they are useful and find the resources we went over. We would have also only had chance to cover one or two of the seven focus areas in the time allotted. These include goal setting, website strategy, SEO, social media marketing, online advertising, email marketing, and analytics.
The framework of the workshop involved an introduction to digital marketing then the participants completed a survey to see what we would look at during the time we had together. Based on the survey, whichever of the 7 focus areas were most popular, we did an overview of the area, then some examples, followed by an activity.
